Randal D. Pinkett
Director of Community Technology
Inner City Consulting Group of BCT Partners, Inc.

Randal D. Pinkett is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Epistemology and Learning Group at the MIT Media Laboratory, where his doctoral dissertation is examining strategies to bridge the "digital divide." He is studying the role of community technology for the purpose of community building in a low-income housing development in Roxbury, Massachusetts.

Pinkett holds four degrees: a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University as a NCAA Academic All-American; a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Oxford in England as a Rhodes Scholar; and joint Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and MBA degrees from MIT as a National Science Foundation Fellow.

Pinkett has also been involved in starting two businesses. First, he is the Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of MBS Educational Services and Training, a company that provides training and development for Fortune 500, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions. Second, he is a founding partner in BCT Partners, a community technology services and consulting firm whose customers including corporations, community-based organizations, and foundations.

Pinkett has been recognized by the National Society of Black Engineers as their National Member of the Year and USA Today newspaper as one of the top 20 scholars in the country. Also, Pinkett has been featured in Black Issues in Higher Education, both Ebony Magazine and Black Enterprise Magazine as one of the "30 Leaders for the Future," and on CNN and BET for his accomplishments in engineering and science.

He is listed in Who's Who Among American Entrepreneurs and Who's Who Among African-Americans.
