Michael Margolis
CitySkills, Inc.

Michael is the co-founder of CitySkills, Inc. and has supported its start-up and operations. CitySkills is a national nonprofit that delivers resources towards bridging the labor market gap for urban adults to better access IT careers. Michael's role has included fundraising, program development, strategic partnerships, and outreach/communications. These accomplishments include recent grants from the Rockefeller Foundation, Ford Foundation, Allaire Corporation, and JP Morgan. Michael is a regular spokesman on Internet workforce issues, having presented to several dozen audiences including Fast Company magazine, National Public Radio, the Harvard Business School, and the Department of Commerce.

An entrepreneur for the past six years, Michael brings a diverse set of experiences across the fields of technology, business, and social activism. Prior to starting CitySkills, Michael was a founding member and Director of Development at VolunteerSolutions, the first nonprofit ever to win the M.I.T. $50K Entrepreneurship Competition. In addition, Michael is an advisory board member for several initiatives including the City of Boston's High Tech Demonstration Projects and the web development firm Articulated Impact. Michael holds a B.A. in cultural anthropology from Tufts University and a certificate from the Tuck School of Business Management.
